I can’t believe summer is almost over! I have been so busy I am afraid I haven’t been posting like I should. Selling peaches for a fundraiser has been keeping me busy for the last couple of weeks. I am happy to report the fundraiser was very successful! People love peaches.

It just dawned on me that Father’s Day is fast approaching. June 19th will be the day to celebrate fathers everywhere.
I have a hard time choosing gifts for Father’s Day. When your parents reach a certain age, it is very hard to find something they like that they don’t already possess. I try to look for things my dad wouldn’t buy for himself.
So I thought i might could help someone who has a similar problem. Whether it is your father or your husband, choosing the right gift can be stressful.
I have compiled some gifts that I think the Olyphant fan would truly love getting this Father’s Day. Check them out and see if they could bring a smile to your special guy this Father’s Day.
I know some women find Deadwood’s language a little hard to enjoy but most guys don’t mind the Cursewood aspect troubling at all. At any rate this gritty western drama is full of action. Timothy Olyphant plays Seth Bullock, the tough as nails, sheriff of Deadwood. Bullock finds himself staring down the troublemakers in the rough, lawless town of Deadwood. If your guy likes westerns or action movies, he is sure to love Deadwood. Between us ladies, Olyphant has some hot love scenes, so you can watch along with him!
A Perfect Getaway is a little independent gem. Olyphant gives a compelling performance in this action thriller. Two couples meet on a trek to a remote beach in Hawaii. One couple is the “Honeymoon Killers’, they murder a couple and assume their identities. But which couple? The movie also stars Steve Zahn, Milla Jovovich and Kiele Sanchez.
Elmore Leonard has been hailed as America’s greatest crime writer. He was inspired by Olyphant’s portrayal of his character, Raylan Givens. Leonard was so inspired that he wrote a whole novel about the character, “Raylan”.
If your guy is a book lover Leonard’s novel would make a great gift. Full of action and humor “Raylan” is a great read.
He can enjoy his coffee in this Justified mug. Great for a fan collection or just to sip a favorite hot drink. Features Raylan and the Justified logo.
That is a few ideas for gifts for the Justified man. I hope I have given you some gift inspiration. Happy Father’s Day shopping.
I finally got a chance to see Timothy Olyphant’s new film “Mother’s Day” over the weekend. I have to say Mr. Olyphant is very fine on the big screen.
I thought I would share my experience with everyone. If you haven’t seen the film yet I will issue a spoiler alert before I begin.
Now I have to admit I can enjoy Olyphant’s part in any film but that is not to say the film is a good one. “Mother’s Day” is one of those not so good films.
It seems that every film made nowadays tries to include every politically correct issue that exists. It does not make for a believable movie. It seems the movie only exists to showcase “diversity”.
We have two sisters, Kate Hudson and Sarah Chalke, who have moved from their Texas home to Georgia. Hudson is married to a man from India and Chalke is married to her lesbian partner. What are the odds?
Their ridiculous story centers around the fact that neither have revealed to their parents that they are married. Hudson has a son with her husband while Chalke has adopted her partner’s son.
The parents, Margo Martindale and Robert Pine, are right out of the stereotype manual. They are from Texas therefore they are uneducated bigots who raised their daughters in a trailer park (they didn’t seem like trailer park dwellers to me).
The problem arises when they pay a surprise visit to their daughters and learn the truth. Of course husband is mad his wife lied about her parents. Parents are mad that they were kept in the dark. I suppose hilarity was supposed to ensue but that didn’t happen. I found this storyline unbelievable and downright stupid.
Up to 40% Off on BBQ Sets – Sports Fan Shop with free shipping and No Tax!!! Olyphant’s character, Henry, is Jennifer Aniston’s ex-husband. They share joint custory of their two boys and seem to enjoy a friendly divorce. Their story would have made a good film on its own, however, in “Mother’s Day” their time is limited so much of what could have been never was. We did not get to see any of the story from Henry and his new wife’s point of view. Most of their story was centered on Aniston and her angst at Henry’s new young wife. No depth to any of the characters. We never get to see the new wife’s dilemma of trying to find her place in her new family.
Justified: Season 2 (Special Edition Blu-ray Set with Bonus T-Shirt) [Blu-ray] The other stories centered around a man, Jason Sudekis, who still grieves for his wife after a year. He is raising two daughters. This is more been there, seen that stuff. His oldest daughter seemed way to dismissive of his grief. She even goes so far as to tell her dad it has been a year it is time to move on. I found it a little cold.
The last story concerned a young couple who had a child together but were unmarried. The mother did not want to get married. She was adopted as a child and somehow this has turned her against the whole marriage and family idea. She tracks her real mother down. Turns out it is HSN personality played by Julia Roberts.
Of course Roberts comes to visit her and gives her my parents made me give you up. I really didn’t want to so to make up for it I have a career. This whole story is extremely insulting on so many levels. I will let you form your own opinions on this one.
Of course they get the happy ending. After meeting her mom she wants to marry her man. New mom pays for their wedding and attends to give the bride away and of course to bond with her new grandchild.
I didn’t want to believe the bad reviews of this movie, but after seeing it for myself, I can see they were justified. So many cliches you can’t count them all.
Well I hope I didn’t ruin it for anyone. If you want to see the movie for Timothy Olyphant, do it. He is worth the price of admission and the movie isn’t so terrible it is unbearable. It is just Olyphant deserves something so much better. Come on Hollywood can’t you see the next Clint Eastwood when you see him?

Watch and interview with Tim for Mother’s Day Movie
By Penny Clift
This past week has been a stormy one. We have had wind, hail and a lot of rain. It has been the perfect time to stay inside and watch anything Timothy Olyphant.
My family is still adjusting to the loss of our beloved little Peanut. We are making her gravesite a little sanctuary. It is a work in progress right now. It will feature a fence, windchimes and some solar lights. I like to think Peanut will hear the peaceful tinkle of the windchimes and know how much we love and miss her.
On to Olyphant news! Tim appeared on Conan last week. The two had their usual entertaining banter. Tim used Conan to demonstrate the difference between theater and film. I won’t give it away but the ladies will like it.
They eventually get to the movie he is promoting, “Mother’s Day” which opened on April 29th. I was beginning to wonder if he was going to appear in the clip they played. Finally came in at the end. It seemed like a poor choice to me, more Aniston than Olyphant.
If you didn’t get a chance to catch the show, check it out below.
Happy Olyphant Viewing!

Hello to all my fellow Olyphant fans! It is a bright sunny Tuesday.
Just wanted to give heads up to everyone. Timothy will be appearing as a guest on the Conan show Wednesday, April 27th. Conan is on TBS at 10:00 p.m. Central Time.
Check Out FX Shop Sale
Tim and Conan are friends and they always have a good time when Olyphant stops by the show. In the past Tim has shown up with whiskey to celebrate Justified. He dressed in shorts and flip flops prompting Conan to remark they thought he came by to fix the plumbing. You never know what these two will get up to next.
Don’t forget the opening date for Tim’s new movie, Mother’s Day, is this Friday, April 29th. Take your Mom! It looks to be an entertaining film.
Well that is all I have today. Set your DVR for Conan. Happy Olyphant viewing!

I apologize for getting behind on the blog. I have had a terrible time the last two weeks. We lost our beloved dog of eleven years, Peanut. Peanut came to us because she had a bad overbite and the breeder couldn’t sell her. The breeder happens to be the wife of a co-worker and she brought Peanut in one day in an effort to find her a home. I took one look at her and fell in love. She came home with me that day and she has been with me ever since. She died of heart failure on April 14th. Life is lonelier without her.
Tim on Seth Meyers Show
By Penny Clift
Update – Timothy Olyphant was scheduled to be on the Seth Meyers show but apparently he canceled. I apologize for the misinformation.
By Penny Clift
I have some great news for my fellow Timothy Olyphant fans! Tim has signedon to a new series.
“Santa Clarita Diet” will star Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore. The duo will
play husband and wife realtors. The two live slightly disconnected lives
until the wife undergoes a dramatic change which sends their lives down a
path of death and destruction … but in a good way.
Sounds intriguing right? I am thinking a black comedy. The show will
feature a single camera style.
Netflix VP or original content, Cindy Holland, had this to say, “Thegenius casting of Timothy and Drew combined with Victor’s unique comedicsensibility will delight, and definitely surprise, our members around the world.”
The show will appear on Netflix as a Netflix original series. It will
premiere in 2017.
If you haven’t got your Netflix subscription, you better get get to it!
Here’s hoping “Santa Clarita Diet’ is another great series for Olyphant.
